Statement of Faith

WORD OF GOD
We believe the Bible in its entirety to be the work of God without error, inspired by the Holy Spirit, being the final authority and all matter of faith and conduct. [2 Peter 1:20-21, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12]

THE TRINITY
We believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. [2 Corinthians 13:14]

GOD THE FATHER
We believe in God the Father, creator of heaven and earth. A God who is merciful in the affairs of all his children. One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. [Eph. 4:6, Gen 1:1]

JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus Christ died on the cross and his blood was shed for our sins. We believe that Jesus Christ will return and that while we don't know when it is our job to be ready for it as believers. We believe that the only way to God is through the Son Jesus Christ. [Matthew 26:28-29, John 1:29, Acts 1:6-11, Romans 4:25,5:9, Colossians 1:20, Hebrews 9:12,22, 1 John 1:7, Revelation 5:9]

HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the comforter that Jesus Christ promised to send. We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict, regenerate, seal, indwell, guide and instruct the believer for life and service. We believe that the Holy Spirit permanently lives within every true believer and gives the believer power to live a holy life. The Father sovereignly imparts the same spiritual gifts to today's church that were manifest in the early church. [Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15-18; John 3:3-8; 14:16-17; 16:7-11; Acts 1:8; 2:17; Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12; Ephesians 1:13-14]

BAPTISM OF WATER
We believe that water baptism is an ordinance to be observed by the church during this age. It is not to be regarded as a means of salvation. [Matthew 3:13-17; 28:16-20; John 3:3-8; Acts 2:28-39; Romans 6:1-14; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:18-22]

THE LORD'S SUPPER
We believe the Lord's supper is for believers. It is a special time of communion of a believer in the presence of God when the elements of manna and fruits fo the vine, representing the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We take this in remembrance of a crucified Jesus, a loving Jesus, and a glorious return of our Savior.

MARRIAGE
We believe God created marriage to be between a man and a woman. [Genesis 2:20-24; Leviticus 18:22; Mark 10:5-9; 1 Corinthians 7:2-4]

PRAYER
We believe prayer is the very essence of Christian life. Prayer allows us a very real and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is prayer that gives us peace, rest, encouragement, hope, and a reassurance of the Lord's presence in our life. [2 Chronicles 7:14; Isaiah 56:7; Matthew 5:44; 6:9-13; 7:7-11; 19:13; Luke 3:21; 22:39; John 17; Acts 2:42; Philippians 1:9-10; 4:6-7; 1 Timothy 2:8; James 5:13-18]
